KOINOS STAFF Phil Bence, Director
Dr. Bence is a freelance writer, as well as an adjunct professor for Fuller Theological Seminary, Seattle Pacific University, and Indiana Wesleyan University. He has graduate degrees from Asbury Theological Seminary (M.Div.) and the University of Saint Andrews, Scotland (Ph.D.). He is the author of a commentary on the Acts of the Apostles and also author of a number of scholarly and popular essays. Kathy Bence, Director, Institute for Christian Spirituality
Kathy Bence is a minister, teacher and spiritual director. Kathy teaches at Fuller Seminary Northwest and a variety of short term classes and retreats. She both teaches and offers spiritual direction. She is a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary (M.Div.) and has just completed a D.Min. in Spiritual Formation (Azusa Pacific University) and authored several books, including, Under Her Wings: Spiritual Guidance from Women Saints. Kathy heads up our Christian Formation programs.
An expert on the book of Acts and the letters of Paul, he has written two books. He has edited four collections of essays, numerous issues of journals, and approximately twenty Bible commentaries; and he is author of nearly two hundred articles and essays in addition to many reviews. Gasque has given lectures at more than 60 universities, colleges and seminaries in Asia, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, Latin America, and North America. Co-founder of Regent College (Vancouver, BC, Canada) and founding President of New College Berkeley (California), he is a frequent consultant in the area of theological education. Prior to moving to Seattle in 1998, Gasque served as Dean of Ontario Theological Seminary in Toronto, Canada. He has also served as Provost and Dean of Graduate Studies at Eastern College, Philadelphia; the E. Marshall Sheppard Professor of Biblical Studies at Regent College; J. Omar Good Distinguished Visiting Professor of Evangelical Christianity at Juniata College; Visiting Scholar at Princeton Theological Seminary; and Fellow of the Institute for Ecumenical and Cultural Research at Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota. Gasque's passion is to empower the laity with good theology. |
