The Christian and the Workplace--
        Christian and Kathy Overman

"Although it is common to hear a Christian speak of having a "secular job," the fact of the matter is, the "secular" world does not exist! Unfortunately, the longer we think of the secular sphere as a legitimate concept, the more difficult it is for Christians to see their work in the world as being a true and valid expression of first class ministry and worship. This course presents a concise theology for plumbers, nurses and stockbrokers. (Oh yes, pastors and missionaries are welcome, too!)"

What Is Postmodernism All About? How Does This Movement Affect the Church?
        Christian and Kathy Overman

Fifty years ago, 'tolerance' meant that you did not force others to believe in certain ways, but you allowed them to hold different beliefs than your own. By the 1990s, "tolerance" meant you accepted the fact that other peoples' beliefs were just as true as you own. And today, we have reached the third stage: celebrating other peoples' concepts of truth as being just as true as our own. If Christians do not, they are branded 'intolerant,' and in the process, Christianity is viewed as an unwelcome imposition. What has happened to cause this shift of thinking? How should Christians respond? Why should the church be concerned? How can we 'think biblically' in a postmodern culture where 'truth' is simply what people believe it to be? What new opportunities has postmodern thought opened up for the church, and what silver linings can we find in postmodern times.

Sacred Rhythms – Finding Peace in a Hectic World
        Christine Sine
Are you living in a hectic 24/7 world in which the rhythm of your life is determined more by the pressures of the culture around you than by the values of your faith?  We believe that God has a way of life for all of us that is less stressed, more festive and more satisfying than anything the rat race has to offer.  This workshop examines how we can more intentionally connect our lives to God’s purposes.  It examines the use of Biblically based mission statements to help us establish spiritual and lifestyle disciplines that provide a rhythm to life that flows directly from our faith and the values of God’s kingdom.
